Do You Know Your Worth?

Hey Bolder Sisters,

It’s been a minute.

Here it is the end of June and I haven’t posted all month. It’s been a busy few weeks. I have been planning for the book launch of my newest book Hello BOLD! as well as transitioning out of an old position into a new. It’s all been extremely exciting and a little bit stressful to say the least. With all of that being said, I am excited about my new beginning and in the process I am grateful to have learned a lot about myself.

As I had to promote myself over this past month in various ways, I also discovered how much easier it has become to speak positively and confidently about myself. It felt amazing. The old Tiya avoided compliments and was too shy to brag on herself. But as you know with any type of self-promoting, bragging is something you’d better do or you won’t be offered the opportunity. It’s that simple.

I know my worth and I’m no longer afraid to tell others about it. I know I bring energy, enthusiasm and passion to everything I do. I have the ability to connect with people and my training and coaching skills inspire others. I know that now, and I’m proud of possessing those qualities.

Now what about you, do you know your worth? Here are 3 things to help you discover it.

  1. What do other people typically ask of you? That usually says something really special about you. Do people call you when they can’t figure something out? Are you the problem solver, the proof reader, the math genius, or even the great cook. Whatever that is, it’s one of your strengths. Use it and don’t be afraid to toot your own horn.
  2. What do you enjoy doing most? Our passion is usually that thing we’d do even if we weren’t getting a paycheck. We will usually find our gifts wrapped up in that particular action. Embrace your gifts and talents and don’t be afraid to share them with the world.
  3. What has been your greatest accomplishment? Have you helped someone in need? Have you created a process, been promoted or even received an award or recognition? Whatever you’ve accomplished in your life don’t hide that pride. It’s all part of what makes you amazing. Embrace it and own it, always.

Bolder Sisters, please don’t be afraid to talk about you. You should be your greatest cheerleader. Remember, always know your worth and get what you deserve!

  1. Congrats again on the new book AND the new position you are transitioning too! You have embraced your true calling!
People typically ask for my suggestions or opinions. It makes me feel good every time one of my brothers call with a question about ANYthing! I appreciate the confidence they have in their big sister knowing everything (but I don’t).
It may sound odd but I mostly enjoy ‘research’. I love finding out more on whatever the subject maybe that has piqued my curiosity or the curiosity of people around me!
What I once thought was my greatest accomplishment has turned into an epic fail so I’d have to revisit that question one day!
Glad to see the ‘blog is back’!
