Hey Bolder Sisters. I hope your summer is amazing so far and that you’re creating amazingly bold experiences for yourself. I hope you’re not allowing anything, especially yourselves, to get in the way of your success. I also hope you’ve found things that actually motivate you to conquer your fears and be the bolder sister you were born to be.
Whether it’s through music, quotes or inspiration from other sources, we all need to be reminded of our personal power occasionally.
I’ve felt so empowered lately to actually start tapping into that power. There have been awesome reminders from other people, through music and in my reading that lets me know what I have to do on this earth is bigger than me. It’s time I showed up and became the leader that has been patiently waiting inside me all these years.
I have to get a little uncomfortable in order to make some of those big moves happen. And it’s the perfect time for me to step out of my comfort zone to do it. I have a big work project coming up next month which is going to stretch me (in a good way) like never before. I’m excited but also nervous. Everyone else around me has confidence in what I’m creating. As I prepare, I have to be sure not to disappoint. I have to constantly remind myself that God is always with me and there isn’t much need to doubt or fear anything. What also works for me is letting music, quotes and other inspirational resources speak to me and motivate me.
Here are a few things that keep me pumped, and not just for this project, but all those big scary life things in general.
The first is that I believe in my ability. God has blessed me with creativity and coaching gifts. I use them because I’m supposed to. I am also often reminded by others, that what God gave me isn’t just for me. I am required to bless someone else with my gifts. Gifts are for giving.
The other thing that keeps me motivated is my family and passion. I have a family who supports me no matter what. I also possess a passion for helping people in relationships, with boldness, and with life in general.
And lastly, I am motivated by other powerful women, words of encouragement, quotes and songs that inspire. Songs that speak to my spirit and give me energy to push pass doubts are necessary in my journey in general, but especially when I’m doing something big. Here are just a few of my favorites pieces of inspiration:
- ”When there is no enemy within, the enemies outside cannot hurt you.” – African Proverb
- “When I dare to be powerful – to use my strength in the service of my vision, then it becomes less and less important whether I am afraid. ” – Audre Lorde
- “Whatever we believe about ourselves and our ability comes true for us.” – Susan L. Taylor
He’s Able by Deitrick Haddon “Exceedingly, Abundantly Above all, all you could ask or think, According to, the power that worketh in you, you…God is able to do just what He said He would do, He’s gonna fullfill every promise to you, Don’t give up on God, cause He won’t give up on you, He’s able”
Freedom by Beyonce “I break chains all by myself, Won’t let my freedom rot in hell. Hey! I’ma keep running, Cause a winner don’t quit on themselves”
Put Your Records On by Corinne Bailey Rae “Maybe sometimes we feel afraid, but it’s all right. The more you stay the same, the more they seem to change. Don’t you think it’s strange? Girl, put your records on, tell me your favorite song. You go ahead, let your hair down. Sapphire and faded jeans I hope you get your dreams. Just go ahead, let your hair down. You’re gonna find yourself somewhere, somehow”
Lose Yourself by Eminem “You better lose yourself in the music, the moment You own it, you better never let it go. You only get one shot, do not miss your chance to blow, This opportunity comes once in a lifetime …You can do anything you set your mind to, man”
